African Crocodile

African Slender-Snouted Crocodile – this narrow-snouted species is very secretive and therefore little is known about its habitat and diet preferences. Usually this crocodile is known to live in freshwater but occasionally is found around coastal areas. Most of its range is covered by the tropical rain forests of West and Central Africa. Because of its narrow snout, it is believed to eat small prey such as crabs, shrimp, frogs and fish. Destruction of the crocodiles’s rain forest habitat, and because it is thought of as a pest, has led to its endangerment.
