One of nature’s most curious looking animals is the kangaroo. All fifty-five species of kangaroo live exclusively on the Australian mainland and the island of Tasmania. The baby, called a joey, is born in the normal manner and then crawls into mother’s pouch to mature. Adult females are known as flyers and males are called boomers. The kangaroo is an impressive leaper that can cover up to 26 feet in a single jump and has also been reported to clear fences over eight feet high.
