Oceanic Dolphin



The Oceanic Dolphin is actually a family of dolphins that contains at least 30 species! Various species range from the small stature of the Maui Dolphin 5.6 foot long at a weight of 110 pounds all the way up to the Killer Whale at 31 foot long and 22,000 pounds! Oceanic Dolphins, or Delphinidae, often travel in pods for socialization and hunting. Their diets are made up of fish, squid and small crustaceans, making them carnivorous. Delphinidaes are very smart and are known to teach, learn, cooperate, scheme and grieve.
