The vulture is found widely around the world, on every continent excluding Antarctica and Australia. Vultures are scavengers, feeding on carcass remains, typically only leaving the skeleton behind. Since the early 1990's, vulture populations in India and Nepal have starkly declined due to the misuse of the veterinary drug Diclofenac. India has now banned the drug's use on animals, but it will still take decades for the southern Asia vulture population to bounce back from such endangered levels.
